If your deliverance isn't "taking" it's probably because you can't cast out a part of yourself. If there's a wound in your past, it could very well be a fragment that's crying out, over-reacting or angry. Just because you are hearing a negative voice or having a bad feeling, does not automatically mean it's a demon. For the tools in our book, you don't need to differentiate. Sometimes it's an obvious alter, has a well-developed personality, and sometimes it's not so easy to know. You need to be able to classify it as either a fragment or an alter.Īs mentioned, emotional trauma is on a spectrum. Having fragments doesn't mean that you will ever dissociate, although it usually means you'll overreact in certain circumstances. You can have little pieces of your soul that splinter off and carry an emotion or memory that you didn't know how to cope with at the age you were, and at the other end of the spectrum you can split and have multiple alters that are well-developed parts with their own personalities, like in Dissociative Identity Disorder, as well as everything in between. Your crap might be bigger than my crap, but my crap still hurt. You have to be really messed up to have them.Įverybody has fragments, because everybody has gone through some crap. A fragment is that part of you that's been locked away, inaccessible to healing, at least to the usual methods. When we experience a traumatizing event, part of our coping strategy is to wall off a little piece of ourselves in order to contain that emotion. These are serious misconceptions that keep people from healing, not innocent little white lies. The more I talk to people about soul fragments, the more I become aware of the misconceptions floating around.
